THE NATIONAL MARBLE MUSEUM
COLLECTION at the
MUSEUM OF
AMERICAN GLASS in WEST VIRGINIA
The
Museum of American Glassin West Virginia(MAGWV) is dedicated to the
collection and preservation of the history of American Made Glass including
the glass marble industry. MAGWV has one or more examples representing
every American company that we could identify. Samples include pieces
of glass, or they might be machines, molds, tools, or other non-glass
items such as catalogs and documentation. We even have historical items
from the American Flint Glass Workers Union. All this is to show how
immense and diversified the American Glass industry once was -- totally
for your benefit and education. Consider us as your SOURCE of RESEARCH
MATERIAL about the glass industry.
The National Marble Collection is now located at MAGWV in downtown Weston.
We are steadfast in our new goal of describing the art and history of
marble making, including the art of playing the game. Future plans include
marble themed educational resources that cover everything from beautiful
displays to self-published monographs (single subject writings) created
by the skilled volunteers at MAGWV.
